She lives a luxurious life for a bear as she has acres of land to explore, plenty of enrichment opportunities and lots of dedicated care for the rest of her life. At her new abode in the Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch, Eve has her own spacious sanctuary-style enclosure. Since she couldn’t go home, Eve was given the next best thing. Even though she’d gained 130 pounds and some of her fur had begun growing again, she didn’t have enough of a coat nor the necessary skills to survive in the wild and interact with other bears. It was here that Eve was able to undergo 2 years of rehab in order to reverse the damage caused by her neglect, medical issues, and mange.Īs Eve began on her road to recovery, her caretakers quickly realized that she’d never be fit for release into the wild.
In order to give the bear the proper help that she needed, authorities relocated her to the Fund for Animals Wildlife Center in Ramona, California.
